Thailand is renowned for its idyllic beaches, picturesque mountains, and sensational food and shopping. A Letz Volunteer experience in Thailand is an affordable way for you to absorb all that the country has to offer, while making a real impact on the lives of the less fortunate.
Letz Volunteerhave created a strong relationship with a special needs school located roughly an hour south east of Bangkok, in beautiful Thailand. This relationship ensures that you can have an affordable volunteer experience, while making a huge impact on the lives of children in need and most certainly your own. The overall goal of the school is to help special needs students who wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to develop their skills and competencies at their own pace.
Volunteers are an integral part of the school’s success and a Letz Volunteer experience would see you working with a small number of students aged 4-13 who suffer from acute learning and physical disability. You may assist with the academic program, fine motor and gross motor programs, music, art and even work one on one with students on specific learning goals. Generally very popular with the students volunteers will also join children for snacks and lunch time, and play with the children.
Additionally, throughout Thailand, schools need Letz Volunteers to motivate children to speak English. Encouragement is a crucial tool in fostering an effective learning environment for the children within the special needs program. English improves the chances in life for every child you teach - and being able to see the improvements first hand is truly a privilege! There are a variety of ways to encourage the children in their learning experiences - working one-on-one, games, activities and excursions are some of the best ways to engage with your students
A Letz Volunteer placement in Thailand would allow you to be truly immersed in Thai culture and the community, while affecting real change in the lives of children who need some extra help. Any person with patience and an easy-going nature would be suitable for this volunteer job. Those with any experience working with special needs or learning disabilities would be particularly welcome
The school is located roughly one and a half hours south-east of Bangkok.
